Aesthetics and Facial Aging – A New Approach
Established dogma in plastic surgery was that with age the face descended, leading to laxity and wrinkling. Newer evidence demonstrates that the maturing face does not so much descend as it contracts by virtue of volume loss: healthy collagen and fat degrade and are lost as we grow older. In order to reverse this process doctors have turned to injectable collagen “fillers” such as Restalyne, Perlane and Juviderm. Nonetheless, the problem is that these synthetic collagen derivatives only last four to six months and need to be re-injected over and over again. The face lift only serves to pull the skin around a smaller volume of collagen and fat leading to an aesthetically displeasing “stretched” look. In fact, it is fat injecting or fat grafting as it is sometimes called to the face that leads to volume expansion and the true method by which the aging process can be reversed.
To put it another way, at birth the face is like a grape, filled with healthy collagen and fat. With volume loss the grape becomes a raisin. The effect of a face lift can be looked upon as a procedure that transforms this raisin into a pea, by tightening the shell (skin) but not addressing the volume loss. Therefore, returning the raisin to a grape or the aged face to a youthful one requires restoring the volume that is lost with aging.
FACIAL FAT INJECTING ALLOWS US TO RESTORE THE VOLUME TO YOUR FACE THAT YOU HAVE LOST AS PART OF THE AGING PROCESS. THE PROCEDURE ELIMINATES LINES AND WRINKES IN THE NASO-LABIAL AND PERI-ORBITAL AREA, ECT. BUILDS UP THE CHEEK BONE (MALAR AREA) AND RESTORES VOLUME TO THE CHIN AND THE FOREHEAD. YOU WILL LOOK YEARS YOUNGER THE SAME DAY YOU INDERGO THE PROCEDURE: THE RESULTS CAN LAST A LIFETIME.
YOU WILL NEVER NEED RESTYLANE, PERLANE, JUVIDERM OR BOTOX AGAIN.
